How do I reserve a dog sled trip? After we have discussed what tour options you want over the phone or email you will be sent a waiver form. To formally reserve your tour date return the waiver via mail with a check. Once we receive your check you are BOOKED! If you are making a last minute booking we can take payment via pay-pal.
What if I have to cancel my trip? As long as we have 2 weeks notice your deposit payment will be refunded. If less than 2 weeks notice is given we reserve the right to retain the deposit. If we can rebook the tour time, we will refund your payment.
What if you cancel my dog sled trip? If I cannot get you to safe and fun snow for your tour date I will refund your payment. If we can reschedule, great. If not, you get a refund.
What about weather? We go out in any weather that is safe for the dogs. It may be bitter cold, so be prepared to dress warmly! We can do our dog sledding adventures in most kinds of weather: wind, snow and light rain. New England winter gear is required! Dog sled tours are not cancelled unless there is extreme icing conditions or pouring rain.
Weight Limits While my tour sled has spots for 2 passengers the overall passenger weight limit is 325 pounds. Speak to me if you are a bit over that and depending on tour length I may be able to add extra dogs to keep the dog sledding trip fun.
Age Limits All passengers must be 4 years or older. Speak to me about your children so we can determine if they can safely follow directions during the dog sled excursion.
Safety There is nothing wrong with wearing a helmet, many dog sled mushers do. For kids under 18 a helmet is recommended for our dog sled tours.
How will I know which of your trails to meet you at for our dog sled ride? We have several trails that we use with WMNF permit, from the Lincoln area, Waterville area and Bristol area. Also there is a trail off our road that we may use for dog sled tours as well. the week of your tour conditions will be assessed and we will contact you via email or phone to let you know and give you directions.
